Commis Chef Apprenticeship

Location: BIA Innovator Campus, Athenry, Co. Galway
Programme Length: 2 years
Award: QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Culinary Arts

If you’re passionate about food and want to build a career in the culinary industry, the Commis Chef Apprenticeship is the perfect starting point.

Delivered by Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB) at the state-of-the-art BIA Innovator Campus, this two-year programme combines on-the-job experience with classroom learning.

Apprentices work with an approved hospitality employer and attend regular training in our modern, industry-standard kitchen facilities.

Become a Baker

Bakery Traineeship with GRETB at BIA Innovator Campus

Location: BIA Innovator Campus, Athenry, Co. Galway
Programme Length: 6 months (full-time)
Award: FDQ Level 2 Certificate (equivalent to QQI Level 4)

If you enjoy baking and want to develop real, hands-on skills, the Bakery Traineeship is an ideal entry point into the world of baking.

This six-month, full-time course is delivered by GRETB in a purpose-built training bakery at the BIA Innovator Campus.

You’ll learn in a professional environment, guided by experienced bakers who will help you build the skills employers are looking for.
