The mission of Plant Power is to help VET educators and SMEs to respond to the increasing demand for plant-based food products. The project will promote plant-based innovation and sustainability by providing practical resources and learning tools to equip food SMEs with the necessary skills to capitalise a growing market. The project initiatives include:
Good Practice Guide: a catalogue of case studies from all partner countries showcasing inspirational stories of plant-based businesses, their challenges, and niche in the market. This research was gathered through podcasts with business owners and recorded videos which can be watched and listened to on the Plant Power YouTube channel.
Plant Power Open Education Resources (OERs): a series of educational modules to enhance knowledge and awareness about plant-based products for education. This will enable both educators and SMEs to become active contributors to Europe’s green transition and the future of food. This will include 6 modules and cover content such as product innovation, nutritious foods, alternative proteins, sustainable packaging, the importance of local and seasonal ingredients and plant-based convenience foods. This will be available online.
We will also create an SME self-learning online course surround the development of plant-based products.
