Food Business Registration
Every user should first register their food business with the HSE, via the online portal: https://ehonline.hse.ie/
An Environmental Health Officer (EHO) will be assigned to the business.
The EHO will inspect the relevant food safety requirements of the business e.g. packaging & labelling, premises, food safety records and HACCP, food safety
training etc.

How to Produce at BIA
- Application to BIA via online form
- Registration and/or approval with relevant regulator
- Food hygiene requirements – Food safety training – Certified HACCP level 3 (QQI L5)
- HACCP plan specific to business
- Traceability system – e.g. Batch coding, offsite storage
- Insurance – public liability and product liability indemnity of €6.5m; additional
indemnity note specific to BIA Innovator Campus on the policy. - Safety Statement – Health & Safety Authority – www.besmart.ie template
